Joyce Raynor grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and received her BA in Hebraic Studies from Rutgers University. She attended rabbinical school at the University of Judaism (currently the American Jewish University) before the Conservative Movement ordained women and accordingly received an MA in rabbinic literature. She also holds a PhD from Duke Universityђs Department of Religion. Joyce has served on Dukeђs staff at archaeological excavations in ancient Galilean synagogues and Tzippori. She has worked as a curator at the Israel Museum and the National Maritime Museum, Haifa. Since her return from Israel, she has worked at Golda Och Academy (formerly the Solomon Schechter Day School of Essex & Union) as a Judaics teacher, the high school principal and was the Head of School for eight years.

Lilach Bluevise is excited to join Adelson Educational Campus! She has been a teacher and an administrator in the US and in Israel for over 20 years. With experience in formal education, experiential education and special education, Lilach has been teaching different grades from elementary school throughout high school. She is passionate about educating the whole child and about creating a supportive and safe school community for students and staff. She believes that learning should be authentic, meaningful and driven by studentsђ interests. She is working on promoting excellent teaching, critical thinking and rigor while integrating general studies and Jewish studies with 21 century skills. As a recipient of the Grinspoon-Steinhardt Award for excellence in Jewish education (2008), she is leading her staff in professional development and promoting excellence in teaching. Lilach holds a B.A. in Political Science and Special Education, a teaching certificate, and a master's degree in Educational Policy and Organization from Tel Aviv University. She was a fellow in cohort 3 of Project SuLam for leadership in Jewish education (by RAVSAK), she is a NETA Hebrew curriculum master teacher, and an expert in Israel Education. She is a mother of 3 girls, the oldest is a soldier in the IDF, and the younger two are students at AEC.

Leslie Smith Rosen has been an educator for 35 years, and has been a founding teacher and administrator for two Jewish day schools in Maryland. Most recently from Baltimore, Leslie has taught every grade from kindergarten through senior year, with most of her time in secondary education. Her subject specialities are English, Social Studies, Drama, and Jewish thought, literature, and history. She is the winner of multiple awards for teaching, curriculum-writing, and administration, including the Grinspoon-Steinhardt Award for excellence in Jewish education for North America. She is passionately committed to academic rigor, critical thinking, finding joy in learning, integration of subject matters and disciplines (especially between Jewish and general studies), and, most of all, to the well-being of the totality of each and every student. She holds a B.A. from St. John's College, Annapolis (the "Great Books" school), a master's degree in education, and a master's degree in Jewish philosophy. The mother of three grown children (two of whom are teachers), she loves reading, travel, discussing literature, watching films, following politics, and now, with two grandchildren, embroidering baby blankets.

Frieda Friedman joined the Adelson Educational Campus this summer, July 2016. She graduated with a BS in Economics and an MBA in Finance from Rutgers University. She obtained her CPA while starting her career at Price Waterhouse Coopers. She has held the position of Chief Financial Officer at The Solomon Schechter Day School of Bergen County and The Willow School, both in New Jersey. Frieda recently moved from New Jersey to join our school and will work on maintaining our financial sustainability and developing systems to streamline our procedures. She is the mother of two sons.

Alli Abrahamson joined the Adelson Educational Campus staff after relocating from NYC with her husband and two children, who are happy to be students at our School. She holds a BBA from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Columbia Business School, where she sits on the Admissions Committee and established the Alumni Ambassadors program to strengthen the School's connection with admitted students. After working for over 15 years in marketing and management consulting in various industries including education and other non-profits, Alli has chosen to leverage her business acumen to enthusiastically communicate and shepherd the values and goals of our school.

Matt Boland is a strategic marketing specialist, joining the Adelson Educational Campus with over 20 years of experience in storytelling, branding, and creating communications plans for highly successful companies. His first job after graduating with a BA in Communications from the University of Rhode Island was working on Sportscenter at ESPN. Matt's passion for storytelling transitioned into a 13 year career at HBO where he won three Emmy Awards and a Peabody Award for his writing and producing roles on various documentaries. Matt left HBO to start a real estate development company specializing in ultra exclusive golf communities, working with Tiger Woods and Davis Love III to open Diamante Cabo San Lucas, recently awarded one of Top Golf Resorts in the World. Matt will be responsible for creating the Adelson Educational Campus marketing and communication plans, emphasizing clear and consistent communication both internally and publicly.

Daniel Kelly graduated from Pepperdine University in 2006 with a BA in liberal arts and a BS in physical education. He is a Registered Athletic Administrator through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA).He was a 42nd round draft pick of the Cincinnati Reds in 2002, and played on the Pepperdine baseball team. He joined the Adelson Campus as a P.E. teacher in 2008. After working for a year as the Assistant Athletics Director, he took over the position of Athletics Director in 2012. He earned his MasterНs Degree in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies from The University of Texas-Arlington in May of 2016. Dan has three children and is happily married to his wonderful wife Kellie Kelly.

Arriving from Long Island, New York, in 1990, Carla Behrin worked for the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas before joining our staff in 1998. In New York, she worked at The Huntington Jewish Center as executive secretary to Rabbi Neil Kurshan, president of the Nassau-Suffolk Rabbinical Assembly and author of the book, How to Raise Your Child To Be A Mensch. Ms. Behrin herself knows more than most about raising children. She raised her grandchildren Ь one who will graduate this year, and one who is an alumnus of the school. She also has been involved in catering for more than three decades and has owned her own restaurants. Today, when requesting a table at a local restaurant and asked how many children she has, she replies, _hundreds, but I only brought two with me. Ms. Behrin claims to be one of the few people in the world who looks forward to Monday morning Ь _so I can go to work and see all my children.о

After teaching in our preschool program for five years, in 2010 Jennifer George joined our school's development team. Prior to joining the former Hebrew Academy faculty, Jennifer taught at The Challenger Schools for six years, both in Northern California and Las Vegas. While there she participated in Challenger's teacher certification and attained their highest level, Master Gold Teacher. Previously, she was with Achieve in Northern California teaching special needs children ages 7-12 in their after-school recreational program. While living in Northern California she attended both Foothill and West Valley College, studying early childhood education. Ms. George recently completed her Child Development Accreditation, a nationally accredited certificate program for early childhood educators.

Amy Hollingshead was born in Escondido, California, and grew up in Farmington, Utah. She moved to Nevada last year with her husband, Derek, who is active duty Air Force. She received her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. Amy has spent time working in different areas of nursing, with a focus on pediatrics, most notably at Primary Children's Hospital/University of Utah in pediatric neurology. She plans to pursue her Master's degree in nursing education. In her spare time, Amy enjoys travel, reading, hiking, camping, and spending time with her husband and children.

Susan Tecktiel joined the faculty of the Adelson Educational Campus in 2010. A veteran Jewish day school teacher, she previously taught at The Ramaz Lower School in New York City, The Abraham Joshua Heschel School in New York City, and The Epstein School in Atlanta. Susan earned her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri and her master's degree in Gifted Education from the University of Louisville. Her goal is to instill a lifelong love of learning in her students, which she fosters by building a challenging, supportive, and fun learning environment. Susan also serves as the Director of Camp Yofi, a Jewish family camp for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, located in Georgia.

Sharon Beeman moved to Las Vegas eight years ago from Israel. She worked for Chabad of Summerlin in many of their children programs. She is a professional baker and worked at the Jewish Community Center Camp as their cooking specialist. She has worked at the Adelson Educational Campus since 2012 and for the last 2 years was the Adelson Preschool after school enrichment coordinator. She is extremely creative and helped to make sets for our Preschool shows. She has worked at the JCC Summer camp as well as Shanker Academy. She loves inspiring children to learn as well as bringing out their creative side.

Ifat was born in Israel._ She moved to the states when she was four, grew up in Chicago and moved to Las Vegas with her family in June of 2014. Ifat is married and has three children, one of whom attends Adelson. Prior to Adelson, Ifat worked at a Jewish day school in Chicago. She speaks fluent Hebrew. This is Ifatђs third year at Adelson in the Baby Bear classroom. Ifat loves what she does and feels that it is a privilege to work with the Baby Bears. She is excited for another wonderful year! _

Serach Botach was born and raised in Los Angeles, California in a dual language home, speaking both English and Hebrew fluently. Once completing high school, Serach studied a year abroad in Israel where she volunteered both at an emergency room and a children rehabilitation hospital. She then continued her studies in New York City at Yeshiva University’s Stern College for Women where she earned her bachelors degree in Elementary Education. After earning her degree, Serach moved to Las Vegas to pursue her career in Education. Serach is very excited to join the Adelson team and is looking forward to an amazing year teaching second grade!

Nofar was born in New York and raised in Israel, where she graduated from Haifa University with a Masters in Communications/Public Relations. In Israel, she worked as the Marketing Director for the professional basketball team of Haifa City. As part of working with the team, she started working with kids and fell in love with this part of her job, that including taking the players to volunteer in the community and especially in schools. Nofar worked for the past 2 years as a Hebrew teacher in Durham, NC and Las Vegas. Nofar moved to the United States three years ago with her husband and son and is excited to join our school to teach Hebrew and Judaics to our Lower School students.

My name is Kendra Bott and I have lived in Las Vegas for over 20 years.  I earned a BA in Sociology from UNLV and an MA in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy from the University of Phoenix.  I have been married for over 20 years and have five children.  I have spent much of my time with children and teens and really enjoy working with them. I enjoy spending time outdoors.  I feel the most peaceful when I'm surrounded by nature. Reading is one of my favorite past times. I love getting to know and connecting with others.

Natalie comes to Adelson from the Bay area, where she studied Writing. She holds a Masters of Fine Arts from the University of San Francisco. Natalie began working as an Administrative Assistant for a private school in Berkeley. Since then she has also been a French teacher and a Library Multimedia Specialist. Natalie spends her time outside of work reading, baking, and relaxing with her fiancé and three dogs.

Since moving to Las Vegas twenty-five years ago, Debbie and her husband Terry have raised three wonderful children, one who is an Adelson graduate. Debbie says that her proudest moments have been watching her three blessings grow into wonderfully prepared, caring young adults._ She continues to love every precious moment of teaching and looks forward to welcoming many more bright eyed children into the wonderful world of learning._

Blythe Cherney grew up in the Central Valley of California.ѕ She received her BA in Political Science from California Lutheran University and earned an MA from the University of Minnesota in Comparative and International Education, which allowed her to work closely with international students and American students preparing to study around the world.ѕ She loves travelling and was fortunate to live and work in New Delhi, India, before moving to Las Vegas.ѕ She first became a classroom teacher as a member of Teach for America, and taught middle school mathematics in Clark County School District.ѕ In Spring 2015, she earned her MEd in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction.

Sarah Correll was born and raised in the Philippines before she moved to Las Vegas at age 10. Sarah graduated from the University of Nevada Las Vegas with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Prior to becoming a teacher, Sarah was a Certified Autism Behavior Interventionist as well as a Registered Behavior Technician working with children with Autism using ABA for over 3 years. For fun, Sarah enjoys taking naps, watching movies, and going to the Rebel games with her husband.

Ann has been working with children for 19 years in the public and private school sector.ѕ She graduated from UNLV in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with an area of concentration in early childhood reading.ѕ Ann is the proud parent of four children.ѕ Her oldest is 20 years old and studies engineering at UNLV.ѕ She has a son in the 11th grade studying bio-med and a son in the 7th grade.ѕ Her niece lives with them and is studying nursing.ѕ Annкs youngest is her daughter who attends Adelson and is in the 5th grade.ѕ Ann continues her studies in education and is overjoyed with the enthusiasm she shares with her students in their unique learning journey.

A teacher at the former Hebrew Academy/Adelson Campus since 2004, Dena has been teaching for over 20 years. She holds a Masterкs degree in psychology and a BA in human development. Gifted in art, Ms. Henke is fond of using this medium to challenge creativity.

Melissa has been a teacher for fifteen years, with the majority of her teaching experience being in the kindergarten and junior kindergarten setting. Her philosophy of education is to promote equity, independent thinking, and creativity among all of her students. She has been an Adelson School faculty member since December 2012. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English that she earned from U.N.L.V., as well as, a Masters Degree in Education and a Specialization in Early Childhood Education. Her zest for arts and crafts and literature bring a special flair to her classroom and students. She looks forward to greeting her students every day, and embarking on exciting learning adventures.

Lucy Johnston has nearly twenty years experience as a teacher with a Bachelors of Arts in Music Education from VanderCook College of Music, Chicago Illinois. There she had the opportunity to solo under the "Worlds Greatest Conductor", Dr. Frederick Fennell. She also learned to play and teach seventeen different instruments. After graduating she became a full time Band Director in New Jersey. She continued performing with The Hanover Wind Symphony on French Horn as well as marching in a professional military style band as Assistant Drum Major and brass musician for over fifteen years. She is honored in the Who's Who book of Americans Teachers as an outstanding music teacher. During her summers in NJ she taught full time at The New Jersey Foundation for the Blind where she created the music program for the visually impaired of all ages from 14 to 90 years old. Over the past 10 years, Lucy has taught music and band instruments to students in grades K-5 in Las Vegas at a local Jewish Day School. Lucy looks forward to being part of the Adelson family.

Cheri Garner has a love for science, a curiosity for the natural world, and a passion for teaching. She was raised in Storrs, Connecticut and then headed to Provo, Utah to attend Brigham Young University where she graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught nine years in Utah as a classroom teacher and technology specialist and sixteen years in Las Vegas in both private and public schools specializing in technology, math, and science. She completed her master's degree in technology education with Lesley University and loves integrating science throughout the curriculum. Cheri has enjoyed teaching inservice classes to teachers, revising the CCSD Science Handbook and presenting at local and national educational conferences. In March of 2015, Cheri was selected –Teacher of the Month” by the Review Journal and Sierra Nevada College. Mrs. Garner lives in Las Vegas with her husband and four of her eleven children. She has fourteen grandchildren. Mrs. Garner loves going to the movies, serving in the community, and vacationing with her family.

Miriam has worked in Jewish education for over 25 years. Miriam emigrated from Israel in 1982. Her teaching career started in 1986 at Temple Adat Elohim in Los Angeles, where she taught pre-kindergarten for four years. For the next 16 years she continued teaching 4 year olds and Gesher at University Synagogue in Los Angeles. In 2009 Miri joined the Adelson Educational Campus where she taught 2 year olds and then Junior Kindergarten. Her dedication in the field was recognized when she received the Lainer Distingushed Educator Award for Early Childhood Educators in 2007. In the same year she was also the recipient of The Grinspoon-Steinhardt Award in special recognition of local teachers who make lasting impacts on the lives of children and contribute to excellence in Jewish Education. Miriam has been happily married for 42 years and a proud mother of 3 children and 5 grandchildren, who are an endless source of joy and inspiration to her. Miriђs love of Judaism and her passion for teaching has made for a most rewarding life being able to Рpay it forwardУ, inspiring students, parents and colleagues alike.

Eden was born and raised in Israel. She first came to America in 2006, and has been living in Las Vegas since then with her husband and two boys. Even though Hebrew is her native language, she grew up in an English-speaking environment since her motherђs side of the family immigrated to Israel from the United States. Eden got her Bachelorsђ degree from UNLV in Journalism and Media studies in 2012. Sherry Lasky has made teaching her lifeкs work for the past 40 years, 20+ of which have been with the former Hebrew Academy/Adelson Campus. A tremendous asset, Ms. Lasky brings expertise, professionalism, history and stability to our school every day. A graduate of the University of California at Fresno, majoring in history and elementary education, she holds lifetime teaching certifications in California and Texas, and has maintained a Nevada teaching credential in elementary education since 1990. Sherry's value to our community has also been recognized, notably as a 2004 Summerlin Childrenкs Forum Evening of Excellence honoree.

Debbie Levy began teaching and sharing her love for art with kids more than 24 years ago. She started her professional career as an accountant, but when her youngest daughter started school, Debbie also went back to school to study art and architecture. Recognizing her daughter's interest in art, Debbie opened a studio, Art Classes for Kids, followed by Art Starts Here. Debbie combines her passion for children and teaching in her volunteer efforts for children's charities.

Hila Lin arrived in Las Vegas in 2012 and became a substitute teacher at the Adelson Campus as a Hebrew teacher. She became a full time teacher in the fall of 2013. She graduated from"Ortѕ Megadim" High School with a "Bagrut Diploma" in Psychology, Sociology and Literature. She subsequently served 3 years in the IDF as a lieutenant. She has her B.A in Media and Business Management from the College of Management in Tel-Aviv as well as an M.A in Gender studies from Tel-Aviv University. Before coming to the United States, she was a private Hebrew tutor to new immigrants from Russia who made "Aliya" to Israel. Her additional service includes, volunteer work as an emergency medical services technician ("Magen David Adom") and and volunteering as an English instructor, at a shelter for children of broken homes. She is excited to work at the Adelson Campus and be a contributing factor in the lives of your children.

Vered holds an MA in Science of Psychology from the University of Phoenix and a BA in Science of Accounting from the Devry Institute of Technology in Chicago, Illinois. Vered loves teaching. Her passion includes various ages and subjects. For three years she had the pleasure teaching psychology 101 at Shareкe Bina Torah Academy, in Florida, where she developed theѕѕ curriculum, implemented and taught to 11th and 12th graders. In addition to teaching Psychology, Vered also had the pleasure teaching the twoкs at Temple Sinai in North Miami Beach. Four years ago Vered relocated to Las Vegas with her three daughters and joined the Hebrew and Judaics team at the Adelson Educational Campus. Vered was born in Israel and has a huge passion for the State of Israel, Jewish values and the Hebrew Language. Her passion, together with the outstanding facilities on campus available to both the pedagogical team and the student, help her enabling or empowering each of her students, based on their personal skills and background, with the Hebrew language but also to share, teach, strengthen and promote every aspect of the Jewish identity and heritage.

Gino received his degree from North Central University in Minneapolis and started teaching in Minneapolis in 1990. He taught 3rd, 4th and 5th grade during those 27 years.  He was also a STEM instructor for an after-school program for 9 years as well as the district’s summer STEM Academy.  Gino had the opportunity to teach roller coaster physics, high-altitude ballooning, electronics, bridge building, aviation, Rube Goldberg Machines, rocketry, robotics, CO2 cars and canoe building. The high point of his teaching career was when I was selected as the 2003 Minnesota Teacher of the Year.  He gave speeches in different venues and met the President of the United States. Gino will teach 5th grade in Lower School.

Jennifer moved to Las Vegas seventeen years ago from California to further her education and career in teaching. She received her Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education K-8 through Nova Southeastern University. Jennifer began her career teaching in a private school in Westlake Village, California and went on to pursue what has now been a twenty-one year career teaching grades K-3. Eleven of those amazing years have been here at the Adelson Campus as a first, second, and third grade teacher.ѕ Jenniferкs goal is to challenge and develop young minds, while encouraging independence along the way. She believes that children learn it by doing it therefore, a hands-on approach as well as real-world application is integrated daily throughout class lessons. She believes strongly in the importance of understanding different learning styles. Modifying curriculum to meet the needs of each child is necessary for an effective learning environment.

Robin Pence is the PreK-12th Technology Professional Development Coordinator and Startup Incubator Mentor/Educator at the Dr. Miriam and Sheldon G. Adelson Educational Campus. She has 20 plus years experience as an elementary through high school educator, specializing in technology and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) integration, Judaic Studies, special needs, and professional development. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to inspire students and teachers through innovative use of coding, maker, and design thinking across the curriculum.  Robin dares to innovate and act as a visionary leader in order to design and demonstrate new ways in which one can push the envelope further beyond the classroom walls and out into the world. Austin was born and raised on the east coast in Baltimore, Maryland. He moved to Las Vegas, 16 years ago. Austin started working in the Clark County School District as a teacher's aid for second grade and special education from 2008-2010. He eventually moved into the field of Early Childhood Education in the beginning of 2011. This is Austin's seventh school year as a beloved preschool teacher at Adelson. Austin recently graduated with honors and his Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and was awarded a grant to complete his Master's Degree in Special Education from The University of Nevada, Las Vegas this fall. Austin also has dual Honor Associate Degrees in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. He is a new member of The National Society for Leadership and Success and is Nevada Registry Certified. Austin loves to inspire young minds and help them become the best they can be. In his free time, Austin enjoys reading, watching movies and spending time with his cats and his husband Trent.

Debby Romick has been in the field of education for over 30 years.  She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Special Education from the University of Texas in Austin and has taught a variety of grade levels in both public schools as well as a Jewish Day School in Texas.  In addition to teaching, Debby has been the Director of several educational organizations.  She moved from Plano Texas to Las Vegas in November 2016 with her Fiance, and has 3 grown sons still living in Texas.  Debby believes in developing a classroom community which recognizes each child's uniqueness while developing interpersonal and leadership skills.

Dina Rudaizky has been teaching for the past 18 years. She grew up in Denmark and graduated the Copenhagen Jewish Day School. Later she assumed the position of Director of the Jewish Youth Organization (B'nei Akiva) in Scandinavia. Dina received her Bachelor's degree in Professional Education from Brighton University, England, and earned her Teaching diploma in Judaic Studies and PE from Bar-Ilan University and Washington-Hill in Israel. Dina started her teaching career in Israeli public schools, and afterwards joined the faculty at Solomon Schechter School in Memphis, where she taught Hebrew and Judaic studies, coordinated the Tal Am Curriculum programs, and prayer services for 11 years. In 2010 Mrs. Rudaizky moved to Houston Texas and joined the faculty at Beth Yeshurun Day School, where she coordinated, mentored and taught Hebrew and Judaic studies. Dina is a Holocaust scholar, and has worked with various public and private schools to integrate Holocaust Studies into their curriculum. She is excited to be part of the Adelson family, and believes that with creative and experiential learning, students can grow academically and spiritually.

Deborah Thorne is a graduate of San Diego State University.  She was born and raised in San Diego, California and then moved to Hawaii years later.  As a mother, she decided to get involved in her daughters Pre School and Kindergarten classroom and twenty five years later, it’s still her passion.  Deborah’s main focus has been teaching reading and math skills but also infuses creative movement, songs and social awareness activities into the school day.  With a backround in ballet and yoga, she incorporates body movement as a fun and exciting way to learn.  After leaving the islands, she continued to teach at the Pre-K level in Seattle, Washington and now is very thrilled to be here in Las Vegas with the Adelson Educational Campus !   Deborah’s motto is : “ A Happy Class is a Learning Class ”

Leslie Smith Rosen has been an educator for 35 years, and has been a founding teacher and administrator for two Jewish day schools in Maryland. Most recently from Baltimore, Leslie has taught every grade from kindergarten through senior year, with most of her time in secondary education. Her subject specialities are English, Social Studies, Drama, and Jewish thought, literature, and history. She is the winner of multiple awards for teaching, curriculum-writing, and administration, including the Grinspoon-Steinhardt Award for excellence in Jewish education for North America. She is passionately committed to academic rigor, critical thinking, finding joy in learning, integration of subject matters and disciplines (especially between Jewish and general studies), and, most of all, to the well-being of the totality of each and every student. She holds a B.A. from St. John's College, Annapolis (the "Great Books" school), a master's degree in education, and a master's degree in Jewish philosophy. The mother of three grown children (two of whom are teachers), she loves reading, travel, discussing literature, watching films, following politics, and now, with two grandchildren, embroidering baby blankets.

Milly Joyner started her teaching career in 1991 as a Language Arts teacher at the Emerson Academy in Louisiana. As passionate advocate for student critical thought development, Milly has created and implemented various programs that increase student achievement and engagement, both in the independent school environment and with at-risk youths. She is a teacher consultant, having been selected by the renowned Southern Nevada Writing Project to participate in their 2011 Summer Institute. She completed her BA from the University of Memphis with a major in English and a concentration in British Literature. Milly has taken various graduate courses at the University of New Orleans and will receive her Masters of Education from the University of Nevada in 2012.

Ben Koch has been teaching English at The Adelson Educational Campus since 2012. He was born and raised in Central Illinois where he graduated from Bradley University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Leadership Studies. He also holds a Master of Education in Curriculum and Development with an endorsement for teaching English as a second language from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Ben's passion for teaching English is centered around his belief that the skills required for success in the English classroom (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) are the same skills required for success in the outside world; with this vision in mind, his students work diligently each day to expand their horizons and improve their abilities in order to become tomorrow's leaders. When he is not teaching, Ben loves reading, writing, hiking, running, and Bikram yoga.

A Tennessee native, Bennett Adkinson received a BA in Physics and Theatre, an MS in Science Education, and a PhD in Teacher Education from the University of Tennessee. Ling-Chih Bachman earned her BS in Mathematics from the Universidada de Brasilia. She then earned two Masters degrees from the University of Illinois -- Urbana-Champaign, one in Mathematics, and one in Statistics. She joins the Adelson campus after a lengthy and successful career at Nevada State College, where she taught many different levels of math. In 2007, she was recognized by the Henderson Chamber of Commerce at an Outstanding Teacher. That same year, she also was awarded the iTeach Award for Excellence in Teaching from Nevada State College.

After obtaining a Bachelor's of Arts degree in French Linguistics and Literature from the Universit_ Mohamed V, in Rabat, Morocco in 1991, Ghizlane Berhimou studied another year in "Ecole Normale Sup_rieur" (College of Education) in Morocco, and in "Universit_ de Formation des MaТtres" in Toulouse, France, where she engaged in student teaching training on the high school level; she graduated in 1992 with a teaching certificate for secondary education. She taught high school in Morocco from 1992 to 2002, when she moved to Las Vegas. From 2003 to 2005, Madame Berhimou taught French at the College of Southern Nevada, as well as at the University of Las Vegas, where she is still a part-time instructor. Madame Berhimou is married and and is the mother of two children.

Born in India, Niladri Bhowmik, Ph.D. earned his master's and doctoral degree from the University of Calcutta, India. He moved to Las Vegas in 2007 to join his wife, who was pursuing her post-doctoral research at the US Environmental Protection Agency, and their daughter. He was appointed to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas as Visiting Assistant Professor of Chemistry. He also successfully taught at Nevada State College and College of Southern Nevada, where he instructed undergraduate classes of biology, chemistry, and environmental science. He joined The Adelson Educational Campus in August 2013 as a Upper School Science Teacher. He has co-authored about 25 peer-reviewed research articles, including books, book chapters and abstracts, all of which were published in well-recognized national and international journals. He is passionate about education and teaching science courses. He is committed to high quality science education, and his primary teaching objective is to impart general interest and passion in students for scientific concepts and theories, which will not only help to enrich their lives, but also will contribute to the benefit of the entire community. He loves to play and watch soccer and cricket, and enjoys camping.

Ayelet Blit got her BA from Queens College in New York. She has been involved in Jewish education for more than 25 years. She directed the religious schools of two of the largest synagogues in Las Vegas and consulted for two others. Ayelet is also a tutor for Bar/Bat Mitzvah and teaches students how to chant from the Torah. She has been a conversion instructor since 2001 and helped more than 100 people in their journey of becoming Jewish. She joined the Adelson Educational Campus in 2008 and has worked with Middle School, Upper School, and Lower School students.

Immediately after graduating from high school in Massachusetts, Frank Browne enlisted in the U.S. Army where he studied Modern Standard Arabic at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California prior to serving as an Arabic linguist in Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Having completed his enlistment, he attended University of California San Diego where he graduated with a degree in Linguistics with a Specialization in EFL. After earning his degree, he took a six-week trip to Europe where he visited London, Berlin, Vienna, Prague, Rome, Portofino, Barcelona, San Sebastian, and Madrid. Following this trip, he taught English as a Foreign Language in Kuwait for a year. Missing the United States and wanting to teach at the high school level, he returned to San Diego to complete his secondary teaching credential. Frank then taught high school for eight years„four in San Diego and four in Las Vegas. After teaching for four years in CCSD, Frank made the jump to an independent school where he taught at The Alexander Dawson School serving as Dean of Students and English Department Chair while there. As of now, including summer teaching in gifted programs with teaching high school and middle school, Frank Browne has equal experience in independent and public schools at all levels of secondary education. In addition to taking multiple masterНs level courses in English Literature at UNLV, he has also completed all coursework toward an M.S. in Educational Psychology at UNLV. The accomplishment of which he is most proud, however, is his daughter Madeleine who is in the third grade and is a fantastic swimmer, artist, and writer. All of his available time is spent traveling, reading, watching movies, and exercising„whenever possible, with Madeleine. He is extremely excited to be able to share his knowledge and experience with the students at Adelson.

Nicole Ceccacci began her career in education on the East Coast in 2004 and has been living and teaching in Las Vegas since 2006. Born in Pennsylvania, Nicole then moved to northern Virginia where she lived until moving to London, England, at the age of twelve. She attended the American School in London before returning to the States to attend college at the University of Virginia where she received her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Language with a minor in Sociology. After graduating, she worked in New York City for a prominent investment banking firm. Deciding that education was her passion, she applied to HarvardНs Graduate School of Education where she earned a Master of Education in Teaching and Curriculum. Nicole encourages her students to question and explore their own, as well as societyНs, values, opinions, and beliefs through the intense study of literature and writing. In her free time, Nicole enjoys attending cultural events, reading, traveling, visiting with friends, and spending time with her fianc_ and three adorable pups.

Lauren Eisenberg completed a BA degree, double majoring in English and Jewish Studies, in Durban, South Africa and then emigrated to Israel. She obtained her teaching certificate from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and taught high-school English. Lauren then studied at the University of California, Santa Barbara and earned an MA in Educational Administration. She is passionate about Jewish Education, and for the last 40 years has worked as an educator, administrator, programmer and fundraiser. Lauren facilitates workshops for the National Hadassah Organization and locally for the emerging leaders of the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas. She has taught 6th and 7th grade Hebrew classes and adult education classes for Congregation Ner Tamid. Currently, Lauren serves on the Board of the JCC. She helped initiate and implement classes for the Jewish University of the JCC and is its co-Chair.

Marc Fox is an experienced, well-rounded professional with extensive legal, instructional, and governmental expertise. This is his second year teaching and advising the Adelson Moot Court/Mock Trial competition program, and helping students examine the legal process through the lens of key historical court cases, and recent legal controversies with a special emphasis on the history and development of American Jurisprudence. Prior to teaching at Adelson, he taught as adjunct MBA faculty at the University of Southern Nevada, and as a law instructor in a Clark County high school magnet program. Prior to that, Marc served as an active duty Air Force Judge Advocate for twenty years, with duties ranging from criminal prosecution to complex contract litigation and appellate work. After retiring from the Air Force Marc worked for the Nevada Attorney General in areas including Department of Corrections prisoner litigation, and constituent services. Marc also continues to serve as a volunteer attorney advocating for children in Clark County, Nevada abuse and neglect cases under the auspices of the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada. In that role he represents children in cases involving child placement, termination of parental rights, and sibling visitation issues. Marc is originally from Elizabeth, New Jersey.

Yifat Fuss was born and raised in Tel Aviv, Israel. She graduated from the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) in 2006, studying Law and Business Management. Yifat joined the Adelson Educational Campus in 2011 as a Hebrew teacher and was trained to teach both NETA and Tal Am programs. This year is her first year as the Middle School Jewish Life (Hebrew & Judaic Studies) Coordinator.

Paula Garrett holds a Master's degree in Applied Microbiology. Her work as a research scientist has included water and air quality, desert ecosystems, endangered species in both a laboratory and field environment. Paula has also been an adjunct faculty member at the college level for 18 years. Her work in informal education lead her to become a middle school science teacher. Her passion is to share her love and excitement of science to her students.

David Girard earned a BS from the State University of New York at Buffalo and an MS from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. David comes to the Adelson Educational Campus after twenty-five years at the Culver Academies, where he most recently served as the Associate Director of College Advising. While at Culver, David also taught sophomore-level American Literature and was an advisor for the school newspaper. Throughout his Culver tenure, David served as a hockey coach and has been a mission trip leader. Together with his wife, Charlotte, David has four children and two grand-children.

Hila Havdala Shafshak was born and raised in Herzliya, Israel. After completing her military service on the northern border of Israel, she graduated from the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) in Herzliya, Israel in 2005 with a Business Degree, majoring in Finance and Hotel Management. After moving to Las Vegas, Hila continued her studies at UNLV. She graduated in 2006 with a degree in Hotlel Administration, majoring in Finance and Event Planning. Hila has worked both at Temple Beth Sholom, Temple Sinai and Congregation Ner TamidНs Religious Schools. She joined the faculty of the Adelson Educational Campus in 2012 as a Hebrew teacher. She trained both with the Tal Am and NETA programs. She is the proud mother of two boys who both attend our school.

Tobin Herringshaw attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy for acting, earned his bachelor of arts at St. John's College, and earned his masters of science degree in education media, design and technology at Full Sail University. He is an independent filmmaker whose work has been seen on television and at the Renwick Gallery at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. He is also a photographer who enjoys nature and wildlife photography. He is Adobe Education Leader, as well as an Adobe Trainer, and he loves leveraging the power of technology in his classroom. He strongly believes that every student is capable of being creative and works to foster that creativity in all his classes.

Rabbi Aaron Jaffee has taught in the U.S., Australia and Israel. He earned his Rabbinical Ordination while living in Israel and holds a BA in Education and a Masters in Theology from Redding University. Rabbi Jaffee has taught for over two decades. His teaching levels span from lower school through high school. He has taught many subjects including: Chumash, Navi, Talmud, Jewish History, Israel, Hebrew and   Jewish Philosophy.  Rabbi Jaffee developed a series of Jewish Ethics Curriculum booklets for various ages, relating Bible, Talmud knowledge to real-life situations. Rabbi Jaffee has studied Inquiry Based Learning method at The Connecticut Science Center; Mindset: Psychology of Success; Two year studies under the auspices of Dr Sam Gomberg/Harvard University: Studies included adolescent behavior and moral development, applying and studying the theories and research by Pro. Lawrence Kohlberg, Harvard University.  I am also versed in Blended Learning and the Flipped Classroom as well as Google Apps. Before joining Adelson Campus, Rabbi Jaffee was the Principal of Beth Sholom B’nai Israel’s Hebrew school for the past 10 years.

Samantha Koehler has an undergraduate degree in education from the University of Toledo and a masters degree in educational psychology from UNLV. Sam began her teaching career in Ohio and moved to Las Vegas in 2009. In addition to teaching, she loves coaching swimming and coaches the middle and high school swim teams. Inbar Levi-Winkler, is serving as a MS and US Jewish Studies teacher. After completing her military service as a commander in the IDF, Inbar attended Tel-Aviv University to pursue her BA. Inbar was enrolled in the сOfakimо program at TAU, a special program aimed to train excellent students as teachers of Jewish Studies. Her majors were Jewish Philosophy and Bible Studies. After earning her degree and teaching certificate, Inbar started working on her Masters, and joined the staff of a brand new all-digital school in Tel Aviv, named Tichonet, as a teacher for Jewish Studies. In the summer of 2013, Inbar moved to Las Vegas to join the Adelson Educational Campus.

Debbie Levy began teaching and sharing her love for art with kids more than 24 years ago. She started her professional career as an accountant, but when her youngest daughter started school, Debbie also went back to school to study art and architecture. Recognizing her daughter's interest in art, Debbie opened a studio, Art Classes for Kids, followed by Art Starts Here. Debbie combines her passion for children and teaching in her volunteer efforts for children's charities.

Avigail Maddox has degrees in Mathematics and Psychology from American University. She believes that education is a life long endeavor, and has completed graduate coursework at Hebrew College out of Boston, and is currently taking a course online at Stanford. She has been in education since 2008, and has taught Hebrew, Judaics, Math, and held the role of Director of Education at a synagogue. Mrs. Maddox grew up in Las Vegas and graduated 8th grade from Adelson, which was the Hebrew Academy at the time! In addition to teaching and math, she enjoys embroidery and cooking.

Ashley McKannon is a new transplant from the east coast, growing up in Virginia before completing her BA at Rutgers University with a double major in theoretical Linguistics and Middle Eastern Studies. She then went on the complete an MA at Columbia University in the Department of Middle Eastern, South Asian, and African Studies; for both her BA and MA, Ms McKannon specialized in Modern Iran and the Persian-speaking world. She has also completed an M.Ed in Educational Studies. Ms McKannon has taught at both the middle and high school levels in both History and English. She currently teaches 6th and 7th grade Social Studies.

Chase Meadows settled in Las Vegas after living in several cities across the country. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from UNLV, was hired on as a tutor for the Adelson Educational Campus and soon after was offered an instructor position. Chase takes an approach more focused on the problem-solving and creative aspects of the subject rather than one of memorization and repetition, hoping to instill enthusiasm for math and science in his students. He is currently working toward creating a more competitive math department for the upper school and pushing the school toward greater involvement in mathematical competitions during the year.

Abigail Moyal completed a bachelor's degree in Literature at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, California. She has earned a teaching license in secondary English, as well as a Masters in Education: K-12 Library Science from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. This will be her 4th year at Adelson, where she is very involved in the library as well as Student Council and Sunshine Committee. During her college years she worked in the university library and studied abroad in London, where she had the opportunity to visit 14 different European countries. She is a big proponent of students traveling abroad and strives to continue adventuring around the world herself. She visits family in Israel every year with her husband and son. They have a little girl on the way.

William Naftaly was born and raised in Southern California, but he also lived in Phoenix, Arizona and Long Beach, New York before moving to Las Vegas in 1989. He graduated from UNLV with a BA in History and a MA in Curriculum and Instruction. He is beginning his 20th year as an educator and has taught both in the CCSD and internationally. He taught high school social studies in CCSD for eleven years (ten years at Green Valley High School and one year at Del Sol High School). William completed his student teaching in Whangamata, New Zealand, and taught for four years in Mexico at The American School Foundation of Guadalajara. William is excited to begin his fifth year at the Adelson Educational Campus and fourth year as the varsity soccer coach. William loves spending time with his family, staying physically active and enjoys the cultural enriching experiences that traveling offers.

A proud New Yorker of almost 20 years, Jennifer Nails is glad to be back home in Las Vegas, her native city. She is thrilled to have joined the faculty at Adelson. She received a Masters in Creative Writing from the New School University in New York City, and undergraduate degrees in both Theater and Music from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Her second novel, One Hundred Spaghetti Strings, will be published in 2017 with HarperCollins. She has two awesome sons, Zac and Simon.

Robin Pence is the PreK-12th Technology Professional Development Coordinator and Startup Incubator Mentor/Educator at the Dr. Miriam and Sheldon G. Adelson Educational Campus. She has 20 plus years experience as an elementary through high school educator, specializing in technology and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) integration, Judaic Studies, special needs, and professional development. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to inspire students and teachers through innovative use of coding, maker, and design thinking across the curriculum.  Robin dares to innovate and act as a visionary leader in order to design and demonstrate new ways in which one can push the envelope further beyond the classroom walls and out into the world. She is an experienced educator, presenter and coach in the areas of GSuite for Education, Design Thinking, Maker and Innovator Mindsets, Computer Science, Play and learning, Accessibility, 21st Century Skills, Technology Integration, Personalized PD, and all things tech.

David Philippus was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. Thanks to the influence of strong music programs in middle and high school, Mr. Philippus has carved out an exciting and successful path for himself in music and education. Music has allowed him to travel the world and has introduced him to unique experiences. At an early age Mr. Philippus was selected to play in the McDonald's All-American Grammy Band in New York City where he learned to love Big Band Jazz and to love New York City. After earning his bachelors in Jazz Performance at the University of Nevada Las Vegas on the trombone, he followed his passion for performing to New York City where he freelanced in salsa bands and jazz clubs, and played on Broadway in the orchestra pit for Hairspray. He also toured the east coast with the Artie Shaw Band. After finishing his masters in Jazz Performance from the State University of New York at Purchase, Philippus took a job in Japan for a year, playing in a wide variety of ensembles. Upon returning to the states, Philippus decided to return to Las Vegas where he played with Alicia Keys, Natalie Cole, Michel Legrand, Neil Sedaka, Frankie Vallie, The OJ's, Michael Grimm (winner of America's Got Talent), Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and many more. He also performed with Phantom of the Opera the Las Vegas Spectacular, The Producers, Legends in Concert, Spamalot, Donny and Marie, Lion King and is involved in a lot of the productions that come through the Smith Center. He is currently playing at Vegas! The Show at Planet Hollywood. His love for music and education has brought him to the Adelson Campus in 2011, where he has helped to build the same kind of inspiring band program that motivated his career.

Gloria Rinaldi is a native of South America. She earned a BA in Spanish and ESL in Bogota, Colombia, and then received her MasterНs from The Instituto Colombo Americano. She taught ESL and Spanish at various private military schools and academies for several years. She moved to the U.S. after meeting her husband in Israel in 1987. When their children were in middle school she resumed her passion for teaching. She worked for the federal government as a translator, and had the wonderful opportunity of being an AP Spanish teacher in some of our country's most prestigious high schools.

Yu Ping Sun was born and raised in China. She graduated from He Fei Political Science and Law College with a major in Law. Yu Ping then worked at the Central Office of Civil Affairs and the Administration Service Center in the city of Wuhu, Anhui. She has earned many awards for her works. So that her child could have a better education, Yu Ping then decided to move to America. She has worked in UER (Urban Environmental Research) LLC, and in the Civil & Environmental Engineering department in UNLV as data selector. Yu Ping loves kids and she loves to teach. She is happy to help more people learn about the Chinese language and China. Currently, Ms. Sun is furthering her education by taking graduate courses in Chinese Language and Literature.

Kathryn Shetty received her education in her home state at Missouri State University with a BachelorНs of Science in History and Secondary Education. She continued her studies at the University of Cairo in Archeology and went on to receive a MasterНs degree in Global History with an emphasis on the Middle East. She has taught at both the high and middle school levels in the past and is currently teaching US History and World History. She has also led professional development classes for teachers in history and technology. She enjoys incorporating her love of travel and documentaries into her classes and also with collected artifacts and non-fiction books. Both her and her husband enjoy camping, experiencing new places, photography and being active lifelong learners.

Krissy grew up in Horsham, Pennsylvania and has earned a Bachelor of Fine Art in Communication Design from Kutztown University. She was a graphic designer for several years in neighboring Bucks County and got an itch to move westward. Krissy fell in love with the daily dose of sunshine and started her private school teaching career in 2004. She has taught grades Pre-School through twelfth grade. She taught Digital Media and Visual Art for the past six years to fifth through eighth grades and has been interested in inspiring high school students since having taught Art to them seven years ago. Krissy thoroughly enjoys visiting art museums when back east in New York and Philadelphia and uses the past as inspiration for the future. She loves painting and drawing in her free time, which she now spends chasing after her toddler! Krissy feels she has the best job on campus and is looking forward to all the amazing opportunities to share her love and appreciation of the Arts with her students.

Daniel Kelly graduated from Pepperdine University in 2006 with a BA in liberal arts and a BS in physical education. He is a Registered Athletic Administrator through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA).He was a 42nd round draft pick of the Cincinnati Reds in 2002, and played on the Pepperdine baseball team. He joined the Adelson Campus as a P.E. teacher in 2008. After working for a year as the Assistant Athletics Director, he took over the position of Athletics Director in 2012. He earned his MasterНs Degree in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies from The University of Texas-Arlington in May of 2016. Dan has three children and is happily married to his wonderful wife Kellie Kelly.

Lisa Berg was born in South Africa, were she completed her degree in theatre and dance. Lisa has performed internationally and on Broadway. Lisa has coached for various Varsity and Junior Varsity teams over the last 10 years. Since 2009 she has been the head dance coach for the Adelson Varsity Dance team. She is also a certified A.C.E personal fitness trainer Pilates and Yoga Instructor. Lisa has two lovely children enrolled at the Adelson lower school. She is very excited to be teaching at the Adelson campus and to share the wonderful world of dance with students.

A Las Vegas native, Becky Lamph attended Southern Utah Univeristy in Cedar City where she earned a degree in U.S. History and Althletic Training. She worked in the Clark County School District for six years, teaching social studies and serving as the head track and cross country coach at Green Valley High School. She is excited to be the Middle and Upper School Swim coach at The Adelson Educational Campus where the smaller class sizes and state-of-the-art facility provide optimal conditions to help our students and athletes reach their highest potential.

Coach Aaron Turnier comes to Adelson after spending the last 15 years working with the Cities of North Las Vegas and Las Vegas. During those years, he has developed a variety of aquatic programs for customers of all ages and abilities. His background also includes development of policies and procedures, budgets, staff development, and health and safety training. Aaron has been an American Red Cross Instructor since 1997 and continues to volunteer with the organization teaching and developing future instructors and instructor trainers. Aaron is an Instructor Trainer in Water Safety and Lifeguard. He is also an instructor in CPR/AED, First Aid, Bloodbourne Pathogens, Oxygen Administration, and Emergency Medical Response. Prior to his career in aquatics, Aaron played professional baseball for the Atlanta Braves organization, as well as the Elmira Pioneers and Catskill Cougars, both of the Northeast League. Aaron obtained his Bachelors of Science degree in Physical Education from UNLV and is married to Stacey who is a teacher within the Clark County School District. They have a son named Hayden.

With childhood activities that included tinkering with her Apple II+ computer, competing in weekend math contests, and conducting science fair research, Camille McCue, PhD, developed an early love of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). At the University of Texas Austin, she earned a BA in mathematics and served as a physics research fellow, programming nonlinear fluid flow simulations and working in a fabrication lab.

Dr. McCue began her career at IBM, marketing personal computers and managing the national MicroAge printer contract. She then earned an MA in curriculum and instruction and taught math and physics to rural youth via satellite, as well as served as a founding teacher in the Lone Star to Big Sky credit recovery program for children of migrant farm workers. For the next twelve years, Dr. McCue produced and anchored live television programming for NASA-TV and PBS, connecting kids with experts including orbiting astronauts, roboticists, and Antarctic penguin researchers. Her "International Space Station-Chat" was honored with a PBS National NETA award for Best ITV program. 

Upon moving to Las Vegas, Dr. McCue joined the new UNLV Distance Learning team and taught technology integration courses in the College of Education.  She then became the Ready to Learn coordinator for Vegas PBS, providing community outreach in children's literacy and media literacy to Title I schools throughout Southern Nevada. She was awarded a TV Manager of the Year EMA for her work, as well as several local EMAs for her television productions and websites.  From 2005-2015, Dr. McCue developed and taught STEM electives in engineering, enriched math, and computer science at The Alexander Dawson School. She coached student teams to national awards in Math Olympiads and Future Cities, and she was recognized as the 2009 Future Cities Teacher of the Year. During this time, Dr. McCue wrote and reviewed STEM curriculum for national audiences while serving in the Illuminations Writing Group and on the Mathematics in the Middle School editorial panel for NCTM. Dr. McCue completed her PhD in curriculum and instruction at UNLV (2011), writing her dissertation on learning math through student-designed video games. She presents at STEM conferences and publishes on a variety of subjects, including writing ...for Dummies books such as Coding for Kids and Getting Started with Engineering.  From 2012-2015, Dr. McCue served as Founding Director for Dawson College Bound, a program mentoring youth towards academic success, and recognized by Clark County School Board as an Outstanding Community Partnership program. 

As Director of Technology Innovations for the Adelson Educational Campus (AEC) in Las Vegas, Dr. McCue manages instructional initiatives as well as develops and teaches a progressive coding, maker, and design curriculum for K-12 students. She recently directed the creation of a new, 5000 square foot, state-of-the-art Startup Incubator which opened in September 2016.  At AEC, Dr. McCue currently instructs Incubator courses including AP Computer Science and Systems Thinking. She was recently awarded the Tech Exec 2016 Lifetime Achievement award, and served on the Lt. Governor’s Task Force for Entrepreneurship (Nevada).

Dr. McCue just completed her Computer Science Education Certificate, executing her capstone on crafting a cybersecurity curriculum for the middle grades. Dr. McCue is also serving on the new STEAM committee of the Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada, as well as writing a new ...for Dummies book for parents to assist their kids with computer programming. During the summer she serves as the Curriculum Director for Spark Skill, an education startup providing cutting-edge STEM summer camps for tweens and teens.

Tobin Herringshaw attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy for acting, earned his bachelor of arts at St. John's College, and earned his masters of science degree in education media, design and technology at Full Sail University. He is an independent filmmaker whose work has been seen on television and at the Renwick Gallery at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. He is also a photographer who enjoys nature and wildlife photography. He is Adobe Education Leader, as well as an Adobe Trainer, and he loves leveraging the power of technology in his classroom. He strongly believes that every student is capable of being creative and works to foster that creativity in all his classes.

Robin Pence is the PreK-12th Technology Professional Development Coordinator and Startup Incubator Mentor/Educator at the Dr. Miriam and Sheldon G. Adelson Educational Campus. She has 20 plus years experience as an elementary through high school educator, specializing in technology and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) integration, Judaic Studies, special needs, and professional development. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to inspire students and teachers through innovative use of coding, maker, and design thinking across the curriculum.  Robin dares to innovate and act as a visionary leader in order to design and demonstrate new ways in which one can push the envelope further beyond the classroom walls and out into the world. She is an experienced educator, presenter and coach in the areas of GSuite for Education, Design Thinking, Maker and Innovator Mindsets, Computer Science, Play and learning, Accessibility, 21st Century Skills, Technology Integration, Personalized PD, and all things tech.

David Philippus was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. Thanks to the influence of strong music programs in middle and high school, Mr. Philippus has carved out an exciting and successful path for himself in music and education. Music has allowed him to travel the world and has introduced him to unique experiences. At an early age Mr. Philippus was selected to play in the McDonald's All-American Grammy Band in New York City where he learned to love Big Band Jazz and to love New York City. After earning his bachelors in Jazz Performance at the University of Nevada Las Vegas on the trombone, he followed his passion for performing to New York City where he freelanced in salsa bands and jazz clubs, and played on Broadway in the orchestra pit for Hairspray. He also toured the east coast with the Artie Shaw Band. After finishing his masters in Jazz Performance from the State University of New York at Purchase, Philippus took a job in Japan for a year, playing in a wide variety of ensembles. Upon returning to the states, Philippus decided to return to Las Vegas where he played with Alicia Keys, Natalie Cole, Michel Legrand, Neil Sedaka, Frankie Vallie, The OJ's, Michael Grimm (winner of America's Got Talent), Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and many more. He also performed with Phantom of the Opera the Las Vegas Spectacular, The Producers, Legends in Concert, Spamalot, Donny and Marie, Lion King and is involved in a lot of the productions that come through the Smith Center. He is currently playing at Vegas! The Show at Planet Hollywood. His love for music and education has brought him to the Adelson Campus in 2011, where he has helped to build the same kind of inspiring band program that motivated his career.

Rachel Ziter was raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. She earned a Bachelor of Science and teaching credentials from Florida Southern College, majoring in Elementary Education. Rachel was a founding teacher in Dawson College Bound, a city-wide program mentoring high performing youth towards high school and college success. Rachel is AdelsonНs lower school Technology Integration Specialist. She is responsible for teaching technology and engineering to K-4 students, as well as assisting teachers with the use of technology in their lessons. As a competitive lacrosse player in college, Rachel enjoys coaching club lacrosse. She is looking forward to starting a lacrosse club in the Adelson middle school.

My name is Kendra Bott and I have lived in Las Vegas for over 20 years.  I earned a BA in Sociology from UNLV and an MA in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy from the University of Phoenix.  I have been married for over 20 years and have five children.  I have spent much of my time with children and teens and really enjoy working with them. I enjoy spending time outdoors.  I feel the most peaceful when I'm surrounded by nature. Reading is one of my favorite past times. Susan Baker was born in Reno, Nevada and has lived in Nevada all her life. She received her Bachelor of Science and Masters in Education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She taught elementary school with the Clark County School District for 12 years. She began her Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Curriculum Development at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and completed it at San Diego State University. In 2013, Susan completed the Orton-Gillingham Associate Level Course for working with students with Dyslexia. She plans to pursue her Fellowship and eventual instruct teachers in the use of the Orton-Gillingham Approach. Susan enjoys traveling, reading, and long walks with her dogs. She is married to Lynn (31 years) and has one daughter, Emily, living at home.

He has a Degree in Video Production from THE Ohio University (Go Bobcats, though he also cheers for the Buckeyes), and a Masters Degree in Special Education from UNLV. Maria Paxinos, a native of Las Vegas, has worked over 13 years as an individual and family therapist. Maria graduated with duel degrees from the University of Utah, with a Bachelor of Science Degrees in Behavioral Health and Science, and Psychology. Maria continued on with her education back home at the University of Nevada- Las Vegas, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work and completed her Masters Degree in Social Work. Alicia joined the Adelson Educational Campus in 2009, and is starting her 20th year in education. Alicia holds a BA in English from the University of Detroit, (with teaching certification) as well as a MS in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). Additionally, she recently earned her initial certification in the Orton-Gillingham Instructional Approach for Reading, Spelling & Writing. Alicia has worked as a Literacy Specialist, Math Specialist, and Founding Teacher of the Project Beyond Junior Program in our lower school. Currently, she is teaching English as a Second Language classes in kindergarten through 12th grade, as well as coordinating our International Student Program. Finally, she is a proud parent of two Adelson Campus graduates, as well as an 8th grader.
