  Pride in Jewish Values Our Shabbat service was dedicated to Yom Kippur. We enjoyed inspiring words of Torah by Aviel P, and learned the rituals and special songs for Yom Kippur. We wish all our students, faculty, and families a wonderful Shabbat and a meaningful Yom Kippur. Pride in Community In celebration of Rosh Hashanah, the 8th grade class learned how to bake a honey cake and had to come up with a different melody to a well-known Hebrew song for the holiday. Students were judged for their Hebrew knowledge and songs by Ms. Bluevise, Mr. Edery, Ms. Rudaizky and the Shinshinim. Students in grades 7-12 each had an exciting three days full of fun, learning, and bonding! Grades 7-8 traveled to Zion Ponderosa Ranch in Utah where they focused on nature, Judaism and building a strong community. Grades 9-10 traveled to Los Angeles, experiencing and witnessing their AEC majors in action. Pride in Community AEC theater students are not only learning theatrical arts, they are also developing and  practicing important life skills. The students played a spirited game of 'Baby Steps.'     Pride in Community 9th and 10th graders welcomed Melanie Lewis, Adelson and PTO mom, into class this week to talk about nutrition and sleep. Melanie helped the students understand why and how they can be fueling their bodies in order to enhance their focus and performance at school. This week, twenty-one students from the Adelson Educational Campus were honored by the College Board with special recognition for outstanding performance on the 2019 Advanced Placement exams. The AP Scholar Awards recognize high school students who have demonstrated exemplary college-level achievement on AP Exams. Pride in Community: Each Monday through Thursday, Middle School Students are filled with Pride as they choose how they will spend 30 minutes of their day.  We are thrilled that nine clubs have already launched during this time with more to come later this year when students write charters for their own student-led clubs.  Middle school students all choose one club, but because they happen on different days, students are able to choose more than one.
