It has been a very exciting week for the Adelson community with two seniors admitted to Stanford University, whose acceptance rate of 4.7% made it the nation's most selective university. In addition, we are celebrating the following positive results: UC Berkeley (2), Emory University (2), UCLA (4), as well as admits to the Universities of Michigan and Virginia. What happened: AEC ATTENDS PRESTIGIOUS PHYSICS TOURNAMENT IN ISRAEL Mazel tov to Drew N, Matan A, Krishna M, Brandon M, and Nevo Z who placed 18th / 26th in the final round of the Weitzmann International Safecracking Competition in Israel. We did earn honorable mention as one out of 7 safes which were not cracked.   On Tuesday, a representative from the Rape Crisis Center gave the third of four presentations to the high schoolers.  These presentations educate students on objectification... What happened: AEC ATTENDS PRESTIGIOUS PHYSICS TOURNAMENT IN ISRAEL Five advanced physics students from AEC are in Israel to compete in the 22nd annual Shalheveth Freier International Physics Tournament at the Weizmann Institute. This competition challenges teams from around the world to build "safes" that can be cracked using only physics knowledge and pits them against other teams that try to crack their safe. What happened: SHREK THE MUSICAL Adelson students wrapped up a three-day run of SHREK THE MUSICAL. The magnificent production featured many new faces to the AEC stage and we all laughed, cried and sang along with all our favorite Shrek characters. Amazing fun for the entire AEC community. What happened:   TAL BRODY Tal Brody, visited our school on Wednesday and met with High School students during their daily town hall. He is an American-Israeli former basketball player, and current Goodwill Ambassador of Israel. Brody was drafted #12 in the NBA draft, but chose to pass up an NBA career to instead play basketball in Israel.He played on the national basketball teams of both the United States and Israel, and served in the armies of both countries. In 1977, he led Maccabi... 8th GRADE BREAKOUT GAMES Today, AEC Sophmore's hosted the 8th graders in a fun, action filled event, on the soccer field. The two grades took part in a new AEC tradition, the BREAKOUT GAMES, with the objective to have fun and create bonds between the rising 9th graders and the 10th graders to allow the current 8th graders to envision what the high school experience at AEC could be for them.
