SCHOOL SPIRIT High School spirit week has been full of Super Hero excitement all to culminate with the Homecoming Dance, Saturday, October 13 from 8:00-11:00 pm at AEC. On Thursday, the High School held a fun and action-packed Pep Rally with ice cream sundaes, a flag football game and tons of positive school spirit. 6th GRADE CAVE PAINTING This project was created to develop research skills, primarily, as well as explore the nature of storytelling and communication and the lives of early man.  The students are using (almost all) authentic materials – horsehair, moss, authentic mineral pigments – to create their art. On Wednesday, our 6th graders took a field trip to the Valley of Fire State Park as part of their science, social studies and English classes. Pride Period has been full of engaging activities to keep our student’s minds constantly learning.     This week the science department held their Science Gauntlet which included challenges such as using only three index cards to hold a textbook 4 inches off the desk, seashell stacking, the bridge to nowhere challenge and building the tallest structure using only 10 sheets of paper.    Three of our Adelson Seniors will be participating in the MiniMED-Internship Program through the Clark... SPECIAL GUESTS Or Taicher, co-founder of Koolulam, visited AEC to talk to our students (3rd-12th grade) about how to inspire people to make the world a better place. Koolulam is a social-musical initiative aimed at strengthening the fabric of society. The results of the 2018 Israel Trip photo contest are in! Over the summer, approximately 10 AEC students participated in a photo contest during the school trip to Israel. The categories were People, Landscape, Lifestyle, and Best Overall. Criteria was based on best composition, color, exposure, creativity, and best expression of the category theme. The competition was judges by Mr. Herringshaw (Digital Media) and our Shinshiniot, Noam and Lilach.  The judges did not know what students... Guest Speaker in AP Psychology and Biomedical Science Class On Friday, Mr. Sean Fox visited our Biomedical Sciences course and our AP Psychology course. As an engineer with the Henderson Fire Department, Mr. Fox has had a variety of experiences from fires, medical calls to counseling first responders.   Our 9th and 10th grade students returned this afternoon from the Utah  Shakespeare Festival, in Cedar City, Utah.
