PTO Corner: Adelson on Ice

Friday, August 17, 2018
A BIG shout-out to the PTO for a successful Sunday Funday on Ice at the Vegas Golden Knights' City National Ice Arena this past Sunday! Over fifty families participated, including teachers and staff.
Sponsored by the PTO, in conjunction with the Kielb Foundation (a Las Vegas non-profit that helps parents with youth hockey costs), the event was free of charge for Adelson families - including skate and equipment rental.
PTO president and event organizer, Caline Schwartz, called it a “great community outing for our families and faculty to connect after the long summer break. There were lots of new faces, familiar faces, and smiling faces! And it was surprising to see how many could actually skate!”
“Mr. Naftaly (Social Studies teacher and Varsity Soccer Head Coach) was amazing on the ice! So was Ms. Ziter’s (tech teacher) dad. He was phenomenal! And kudos to all who needed a walker but ventured on the ice anyway,” added Caline.
Lower school teacher Amy Novak, and parent Carol Tsai, were also instrumental in making Sunday Funday on Ice happen. Caline is already hard at work planning another event on the VGK’s arena.
“We’re aiming for the Sunday before school resumes following winter break. Stay tuned!” she said.
