This Week in Lower School 10/30-11/3, 2017

Friday, November 3, 2017

Adelson Community Garden is now officially open!
We were super excited to start planting today, and we can’t wait to incorporate working in the garden in our studies, and of course to enjoy the vegetables, herbs and fruit. We would like to thank the Garden Club and their advisor, Ms. Lasky, the PTO, and dedicated parents, and all the volunteers who helped with the planning and the planting of the garden. We are looking forward to great times working in the garden and enjoying this great addition to the Lower School. View photos from the ceremony.
Our Kindergarten classes enjoyed nature, hiking, and experiential science and biology on their field trip to Spring Mountain Ranch this week. This trip is a highlight of their Nevada unit and the students got to implement their knowledge and make new connections. David, our ranger, was very impressed by their attentiveness, curiosity, great questions, and stamina as he taught our group the history of the people and the place and led them in exploration and hiking. View photos from the trip.
We are looking forward to next week when we will connect election day to Students council election (grades 3-5), and will learn about Veterans’ Day. Please join us for Shabbat on Friday at 8:00am in Beit Midrash. This Shabbat will be dedicated to Veterans’ Day.
