We hope everyone had a happy Purim yesterday! We know our students had a blast with all the festivities at school. Students enjoyed a costume parade, a Purim play by our 3rd graders, participated in a wonderful carnival, and did acts of Tikkun Olam by sorting, packing and wrapping the cans of food that were collected last month. We are so thankful to our PTO parents, and the Purim chair, Monica Garin, and PTO president, Caline Schwartz. Their leadership and dedication was evident in the fun filled day. We love seeing our parents work with us to benefit our students, and Purim was a great example of the school pride and the love for our students that we all share, 5th grade got a chance to be leaders by leading the preschool in their costume parade around the school. This opportunity allowed them to take their growing musical skills and display them for the preschool, teachers, and parents. Journalism Club members wrote about the lead up for 5th graders.

For the past couple of weeks, the fifth-graders have been practicing instrumental songs for the parade. One of the songs is Chag Purim. On Purim, students go around the whole school singing and dancing. They wear cool costumes, and some are even D.I.Y. The fifth-graders are stoked to play their instruments, which even includes boom-whackers. In Tikkun Olam, fifth-grade has been talking about raising money at the carnival for charitable causes, instead of getting prizes. The charities are the SPCA (for animals) and CASA Foundation (for kids in Nevada).
Our 4th-grade students will be dressing up again on Monday, but for a different reason! Journalism Club members wrote about what you can expect if you come experience the Wax Museum!
By Cru Wilson and Brian Blinder
The 4th graders are working on biography projects. They have been focused on famous people they picked. All parents are invited to our Wax Museum on Monday, at 8:15 AM in the Multi Purpose Room. We all will dress up as our biography subject, and we will share very interesting facts. There might be facts that you didn’t even know about a random famous person!
We will pretend to be wax statues of our biography subject. You can press a button near a person for them to tell you about their history. We hope that you will have an enriching day to learn about facts that you didn’t even know! The character I (Brian Blinder) will be Milton Hershey. I chose this person because I was curious about how the Hershey Company was made. The character I (Cru Wilson) will be Jeff Kinney since he writes and draws Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
Our newspaper editor, Cru Wilson (4th-grade) got a chance to interview a very special friend! Cru wrote about a robot named Jibo last semester, and Jibo himself came to Adelson to hang out with Cru. Cru interviewed Jibo along with Ms. Katherine.
Wishing a wonderful Shabbat and weekend,
Lilach Bluevise and the Lower School Leadership Team
