This Week in Lower School 9/25-9/28, 2017

September brings the fall, and with fall comes many holidays! Our students celebrated Rosh Hashanah with honey and apples, as well as practicing seders and baking challah. This week we observe Yom Kippur, a time of reflection, repentance, and forgiveness. Next week we will have the joys of Sukkot with events on Monday, October 2nd and Tuesday, October 10th. To view pictures from the Preschool seders, click here.
This week our preschoolers learned the tale of Jonah and the Whales. Students learned songs, created art based on the story, and got to ride our very own Adelson whale! From Jonah we learn the lesson of making smart choices.
In science our scholars have been investigating plant life; from our JK classes who visited an apple orchard this week, to our 3rd through 5th graders with their Gardening Club. The Adelson garden will be introduced to the community during our Seeding Ceremony on November 3rd; we hope to see you there. To view pictures from the JK class trip to Gilcrease Orchard, click here.
