Pride in Community
The High School Student Council prepared and led an action-packed, spirit-filled 1950s-era pep rally for Upper School students on Thursday. The pep rally included student, parent, and faculty games, as well as audience participation ending with a Middle School versus High School rock-paper-scissor tournament.  Students enjoyed being with each other and celebrating our wonderful and spirited community. The Middle School Student Council participated in a leadership activity at Escapeability Escape Rooms.  They practiced their cooperative and problem solving skills to solve visual, logical, and numerical puzzles and were able to escape with minutes to spare!  Look for the results of their research at a social event in December, to be announced soon!
On Monday, kindergarten through high school students gathered together around the flagpole to participate in a Veterans Day program. View photos
Pride in Excellence
AEC’s High School boys tennis team and girls cross country teams qualified for the playoffs!  All four of our fall high school sports finished in the top 3 of the state for team GPA in their respective leagues. Our High School girls cross country team was named the 2A Academic State Champions. Congratulations to our scholar athletes.
On November 19 and 20, we are lucky to have Laura Deisley from Lab Atlanta come to lead a select group of faculty and students in a Design Thinking workshop.  Over the summer, Principal Bluevise and Ms. Joyner began working with Ms. Deisley and knew that they wanted her to lead our faculty in professional development in Design Thinking to develop empathetic leaders who can help tackle complex issues around our school.  We are thrilled to offer this workshop to students and know that they can leverage this training to continue to build the best experiences for our AEC community.
The performances for The World of Sholom Aleichem are Monday and Tuesday, December 9 and 10 at 6p.m.
Pride in Jewish Values
Middle School students celebrated an “Oneg” Shabbat today. The prophet Isaiah says "If you turn your foot away from Shabbat, from doing your purpose on my holy day, and CALL SHABBAT A DELIGHT (Oneg), THE HOLY OF G-D HONORABLE... then you shall delight yourself in G-d.” Isaiah mandated a “Simcha” happiness during Shabbat. Following this Mitzvah the Middle School students engaged in different “Oneg” activities.
During High School Shabbat, the students who participated in the Budapest -SOS International Exchange Program shared their experiences from Budapest focusing on culture, education and Jewish identity.   Students were also surprised with a video message from the Budapest students! Watch Video
