AEC senior Yoni Gavish
High School students enjoyed a very informative Kabbalat Shabbat today featuring AEC senior Jonah (Yoni) Gavish, who made an impressive and insightful presentation representing StandWithUs. StandWithUS is dedicated to educating people of all ages about Israel and to combating the extremism and anti-Semitism that often distorts the issues. As a StandWithUS High School intern, Jonah believes that knowledge of the facts will correct common prejudices against Israel, and will promote discussions and policies that can help promote peace. StandWithUs is an international, non-profit Israel education organization inspireded by love for Israel and the belief that education is the road to peace.
Adelson Campus is a school based on Jewish values and this was on full display Thursday night. AEC families joined together at a private movie screening to show support for our very own Wonder, Gabriel Hafter. The movie Wonder, which officially premieres tonight, was amazing!  In the spirit of the films message, Gabriel donated the proceeds from ticket sales to a local family who suffered a devastating loss during the October 1 shooting. We continue to be inspired by Gabriel's strength, humor, friendship and his passion to spread the message of kindness. Watch the video on Gabriel and his family discussing the movie and his journey. PLAY VIDEO.
