Pride in Excellence
The Humanities Department used Google Expeditions and Virtual Reality Cardboard Goggles to explore various topics in history including ancient Rome, Civil Rights Movement, and ancient civilizations. This activity allowed for exploration of the world virtually with VR technology bringing abstract concepts to life for our students.
Pride in Community
This week during lunch, members of the Student Design Thinking Team conducted their first set of interviews to learn more about students’ feeling of pride in being an AEC student. The goals of the Student Design Thinking Team is to become empathetic leaders so that they can help solve challenging issues to help create the best student experience at AEC. These same students, along with educational consultant, Laura Deisley, will help facilitate the Design Thinking training that teachers will receive on February 14th.
Pride in Jewish Values
On Monday, January 27 (International Holocaust Memorial Day), NYU graduate and pro-Israel activist, Adela Cojab, will visit our campus and speak to AEC High School students. Adela Cojab was a speaker at the Israeli-American Council's 2019 summit in Florida, where she gave a very powerful speech about the rights of Jewish students deserving a harassment-free environment on college campuses. After her speech at the IAC summit, President Trump announced an executive order, which recognizes Jewish students as a protected group under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. Learn more about Adela Cojab. Parents and faculty are welcome to join us from 12:25-1:10pm on Monday, January 27, in the Beit Midrash.
