Welcome back! We hope you enjoyed a restful and refreshing break.  We anticipate an enriching and exciting second semester! Thursday, January 18th is 8th Grade Shadow Day in the High School.  High school teachers, the 10th grade class, and Student Council have planned a wonderful day to give our 8th graders a taste of high school.  
No school on Monday, January 15th in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.
January 15th-19th- ENROLLMENT STARTS THIS WEEK, look for an email asking you to log in to SFO.

Spelling Bee -- Congratulations Spelling Bee Champion, Ash Abrahamson!  The Spelling Bee went 19 rounds and included words such as pièce de ré·sis·tance and many more.  The runner-up was Liahm Blank, and Britohn Blank received third place.  Nicole Miller was also honored as the top speller for the seventh grade.
Middle School Enrichment "Mad Science" Registration is due on Tuesday, January 16.
For the fifth year in a row, AEC high school students have submitted art and writing to the Scholastic Art & Writing Contest.  Students whom received notification that their pieces have won an award will attend the Awards Ceremony at The Springs Preserve on January 27, 2018. View list of students chosen to receive an award.
Next Wednesday, January 17th from 4:45-7:45 p.m., students can volunteer for the Backpack for Kids Program at Three Square and earn service hours.  Sign up with Ms. Moyal.
