Pride in Excellence
A vibrant Hebrew language program that focuses on reading, writing, speaking, and listening to Hebrew is a foundation of the AEC middle school program. Our middle schoolers range in level to those beginning Hebrew and those who are fluent in the language. This semester, high school students were invited to become Hebrew language buddies with a middle school student. These buddies meet once a week during Pride Period to practice Hebrew language skills. The middle school students have enjoyed this opportunity to practice language skills with the high school students, who, in turn, are getting a chance to practice their advanced skills and give back to our community.
Pride in Community
During the Upper School’s Senior Night Basketball game on Tuesday, students from the 4th Grade Band Enrichment played prepared music during the competition. They were even included in the singing of the Adelson Fight Song with the HS Band! This event was such a fantastic opportunity for the 4th Grade Band Enrichment to share and enjoy their talents in our community. Keep up the great work!
This week in Life Skills, the 9th and 10th graders enjoyed a presentation on “Financial Advice” from the Seniors currently taking Mr. Hemsworth’s Financial Math class. The students learned about budgeting, banking fundamentals, financial preparation for college, identity theft, check writing and deposit process, as well as basics of the stock market. The students played several different games that allowed them to gain a better understanding of investing, college costs, and how personal experiences plus values affect financial decisions.
