This Week in Upper School 8/20-8/24, 2018

Friday, August 24, 2018
Our 9th and 10th grade students returned this afternoon from the Utah  Shakespeare Festival, in Cedar City, Utah. Students participated in a workshop focusing on Shakespearean text, saw The Merchant of Venice at The Engelstad Theatre, and participated in a seminar about The Merchant of Venice with the staff at the festival.
The Middle School continued their new initiative, "Friday Seminars," with new topics to allow students the opportunity to dive deep into specific academic and creative interests that connect to their passions. Highlights from this week included House Band with Mr. Philippus, Microscope Mania with Mrs. Rumschlag, and Honors Seminar led by Ms. Joyner and Mr. Herringshaw.
During Pride Period this week, our upper school students have engaged in reading to a preschool class as well as 6th graders and seniors playing four square together, creating a wonderful, safe and supportive environment for all students.
