Here at Adelson we not only value our student’s academic accomplishments, but also those who display stellar values. This year in the Upper School will are recognizing students who are living every day with Mensch like characteristics.
“A Mensch is many things and one simple thing. A mensch does what is right because it is right towards family, towards strangers, at home and in public. When people behave with honesty, integrity, consideration, and respect, they themselves prosper as does society at large. By spreading mensch-like behavior we can make our society happier, healthier and more successful.”
The winners of this month’s MENSCH OF THE MONTH for High School were (pictured above):
The Student Council: Hailey H, Rebecca W, Ben K, Samuel K, Noah S, Dana B, Zach F, Ore I, Bailey K
The winners for Middle School were:
Grade 8 - Sara B, nominated for being patient, kind, a good friend, and an overall wonderful human being.
Grade 8- Agam I, nominated for being great to her peers and helping others while learning.
On Wednesday, fifty of our High School students attended the DiscoverMED program at Roseman University of Health Sciences. There the students were introduced to a case study pf a young patient suffering from several symptoms (based on an actual patient). Students learned how to obtain and analyze information from the patient’s test results, they were able to diagnose his ailments and prescribe an appropriate course of action.
Paleontologist Guest Speaker
Today the 6th grade students had a visit from Dr. Josh Bonde, a paleontologist at the Las Vegas Natural Museum. He brought in fossils for us to look at and told us about his education and job.
