Pride in Community
AEC theater students are not only learning theatrical arts, they are also developing and  practicing important life skills. The students played a spirited game of 'Baby Steps.' This activity takes teamwork, clear communication, and active listening in order for the person blindfolded to successfully make it across the room, not touching any obstacle that might be in the way following the other students' verbal directions.

7th and 8th graders are getting ready for their overnight trip to Zion, to explore the beauty of nature,  Judaism, and their community. At the same time the High School will visit LA to visit colleges, and explore Jewish life and Israel advocacy on college campuses. Students in grades 9 and 10 will experience the majors they are studying at school. We are looking forward to many bonding opportunities for the 9th-12th grade students and 7th-8th grade students.

Pride in Excellence
Congratulations to our AEC athletes for being named Academic State Champions by the National Interscholastic Activities Association!  The NIAA honors the top 3 teams for each sport in their respective leagues. Last year our Boys Tennis team had the highest GPA in the state and were named Academic State Champions. Boys Soccer and Girls Cross Country finished 2nd. Girls Tennis, Boys Baseball and swimming all finished 3rd! The GPAs ranged from a 3.49-3.88.   What a tremendous achievement!

Pride in Jewish Values
Shabbat is a special time to gather as a community and celebrate our Jewish heritage and pride. At AEC, students are empowered to create Shabbat experience that will engage their fellow students in activities highlighting community, spirituality, and Judaism. Our Shabbat includes music, songs, blessings, Divrei Torah (words of Torah), and Oneg activities (activities to increase the joy of Shabbat). This week our student leaders chose to have two activities after the Shabbat blessings: creating decorations for the upcoming holiday of Sukkot, and a basketball tournament.

Shabbat Shalom.
